The IMTA Keyboard Ensemble Concert is an event for teachers and students to provide an ensemble experience for pianists since we have few chances to experience playing in large groups. It is comprised of duettists as part of a large piano orchestra using between 18 to 20 digital pianos led by a conductor. The Keyboard Ensemble Concert repertoire list includes pieces that are accessible for students of all levels. Memorization is not required, but players must perform at assigned tempos. The IMTA Keyboard Ensemble Concert is held every other year.
This year’s event is titled “Holiday Musical” and will occur on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by Piano Solutions and hosted by Beech Grove High School. Dr. Stephen Reen returns to conduct this concert featuring music of the holiday season. The concert is free and open to the public.
