MTNA sponsors four performance competitions: Junior (ages 11-14), Senior (15-18), Young Artist (19-26), and (Collegiate) Chamber Music (18-26).
MTNA Performance Competitions are national in scope. The competitions begin in autumn at the State level (quarterfinal) and progress to the five-state East Central Division (semifinal) in January. Winners of the East Central Division compete at the National Finals, held concurrently with the National Conference in late March. For complete guidelines, view Overview and Guidelines.
There are no district competitions for the MTNA Performance Competitions. These competitions are completely separate from the Hoosier Auditions.
Non-member teachers may enter students in MTNA Performance Competitions. Click here for the current fee for non-member teachers.
