Piano Syllabus 2010-2015
Calendar

Order Form

Achievement in Music (AIM) program consists of an AIM syllabus (currently only for piano) and AIM festivals, sponsored by local associations.

The AIM syllabus is a curriculum outline, promoting a comprehensive approach to the teaching of music. Twelve different levels of achievement are outlined for five areas: repertoire, technical study (or etude) sightplaying, keyboard skills, and theory (written and aural). In addition, the AIM Syllabus for 2010-2015 is unchanged from the syllabus for 2005-2010; there is no need to purchase a new syllabus if one owns the prior syllabus.

The different levels detailed in the Syllabus provide the foundation for AIM festivals; however, the syllabus can be useful to an individual teacher or student who wants a sequenced, progressive outline for teaching or learning in a particular area.

AIM Festivals provide a musically well-rounded goal for each year's study, as well as a written evaluation of a student's performance skill and musical understanding. Entry fees are set by each local association; contact the local chair indicated on the AIM calendar for more information about the AIM festival in your area. Non-members may enter AIM festivals upon payment of a non-member teacher fee of $30.00 and a student fee of $5.00 in addition to the current local fee.

For more information, contact the AIM coordinator, Douglas Sperry at douglassperry@hotmail.com.
